Working Week

This is a Monday to Friday position with weekends off. The shifts vary in length and a timetable would be agreed upon before starting in this role.

Typically, late shifts finish no later than 8pm and early shifts start no earlier than 6am. The centre is closed by 5pm on Fridays.

We operate in term time only and most of our holidays match the local school calendars. This means we are closed for Christmas and New Year, five weeks in the summer, two weeks around easter and three half term weeks throughout the year. Of the 12 non-operational weeks, you would have a minimum of 10 of these as holiday. As a manager at Robinwood there may be occasions where there is some work to be completed during these close periods, usually at the start or end of the summer break.

The Centre

Barhaugh Hall is a magnificent 18th century building set in over 9 acres of land and lies on the idyllic Cumbria / Northumbria border.

Each week we operate the following mealtimes, each having two service times in them:

• 4 evenings (Monday to Thursday)
• 4 breakfasts (Tuesday to Friday)
• 5 lunchtimes (Monday – Friday)

We have a set of schools that arrive on the Monday and leave on the Wednesday and a set of schools that arrive on the Wednesday and leave on the Friday.

We have a fun and supportive staff team who are a joy to be a part of and we run many social and wellbeing events with them throughout the year. For many people who work with us, the friends they have made here are a headline reason why they love the job so much.

We welcome applications from positive, enthusiastic people who have experience managing a team in a busy catering environment. Some previous experience catering for children is desirable but not essential. Level 3 Food Safety and Hygiene and Level 2 Food Allergen Awareness qualifications will be provided if the successful candidate does not already hold them.
