Raft Building

Another great activity for teamwork combined with watersports fun. We provide a range of items that could be used to make a raft, with various design options possible to challenge the group before they get out on the water. As with a number of our outdoor activities, we can adapt sessions in response to weather conditions. The session doesn’t run over the winter months. In the summer, the children are very likely to get wet during this session! Buoyancy aids and canoe helmets are essential kit for all watersports.

Developing qualities on each activity session

From the 12 qualities, we have identified 6 that are best developed on each activity; for Raft Building they are:
  • Communication
  • Support
  • Cooperation
  • Resilience
  • Responsibility
  • Developing Skills

Other Activities at Robinwood

We typically have 15 high-quality activity sessions packed into three days. Some sessions differ from centre to centre, but all centres run a similar programme, focussed on key stage two. There are some variations according to the time of year.

What Schools Say About Robinwood

We really appreciate all the recommendations we get from schools who have visited Robinwood and the number of schools who come for the first time as a result of recommendations from friends and colleagues. We are constantly updating the comments from schools who have recently attended a Robinwood course. The schools that attend come from areas of the Midlands, throughout the North of England and up into Scotland. But don’t just take our word for it, See what they have to say about Robinwood.
