Cross Lanes activity centre is our newest centre and is set in the beautiful Welsh countryside based just outside of Wrexham.
Cross Lanes dates back to the late Victorian era when it was built as a private house in around 1870. It’s name in welsh was Maes-y-Nant which when translated means ‘house by a stream’. In 1959 Cross Lanes was sold and converted to a hotel with many of its original features being preserved to this day.

Once at the centre all activities are on site and have been developed following extensive feedback and experience from running these activities across our existing 3 centres. The close proximity of every session means there is no time wasted and children are constantly kept busy and entertained on one of our many exciting sessions.   We have created a shallow sheltered lake next to the activity centre, which provides the ideal environment for adventurers to do Raft Building and Canoeing. It is designed so that you are always close to the bank, but is big enough to run challenging activity sessions, developing new skills and having plenty of fun at the same time.  We also have a Giant Swing and Zip wire which is around 80 meters  in length. Everything is on site and close by so there is no time  wasted between activities.

Our purpose built high activities building houses a Climbing Wall, Trapeze area and Crate Challenge Room. We have a purpose built  high wires challenge course and three different themed problem solving areas; Quest, The Dungeon and Piranha Pool – our staff  team love developing these areas to ensure the challenges really capture your imagination when taking part. We also have an  indoor Archery range and custom built caving area.

We are always looking to develop and improve the activity programme we offer, sharing ideas across the company and drawing on the experience gained across the four centres.

We have dormitories and teachers accommodation all housed in the main building. Within our accommodation, you sleep in dormitories with between 2-12 children. Cross Lanes accommodation can cater for up to 170 adventurers at a time. The children get to share a dormitory with their friends, whilst teachers rooms, all of which are en-suite,  are located close to the children.

We have a fantastic teachers lounge area where teachers can relax on the evenings, whilst Robinwood staff oversee bedtimes and overnight supervision of the children.
