Set within 17 acres of beautiful grounds, the historic Grade II listed Dobroyd Castle gives pupils countless opportunities to have fun, develop, and make unforgettable memories.

With the space to have two of every activity, Dobroyd Castle can host up to 22 activity groups every three days, allowing more children to have access to our ultimate timetable.

Every group enjoys the same high-quality, action-packed course all year round, with over half of our 15 thrilling activities taking place indoors. Whether scaling the indoor climbing wall, soaring in Trapeze, or hitting gold in archery, the weather never gets in the way of unforgettable fun. There’s still plenty of opportunity to be outdoors, from canoeing across the lake to navigating the Nightline. The perfect balance of indoor excitement and outdoor challenge, delivering the ultimate KS2 residential experience, whatever the weather.

Mealtimes and Special Diets

Our course is fully catered. From lunch on your arrival to your lunch before you depart, our fantastic catering team have it covered. With menus designed for the ages of the children attending, there will be plenty for them to fuel up on, ready for their activities. You will have a dedicated member of the catering team assigned to your trip to oversee every meal and handle all special diets within your party and every mealtime will be supervised by our team, allowing you to rest and enjoy your meal too.

Accommodation and Facilities

Accommodation at the centre is set across three large dormitory buildings and within the castle itself. There is also a smaller cottage accommodation in the grounds that is accessible for wheelchair users. The children share a dormitory with their friends, whilst the teachers have en-suite rooms close by to relax in.

We provide all bedding, making it one less thing for you to organise. We also have a laundry service on site and will wash, dry and return all belongings to their owners.

Hi I’m Jo, the Centre Manager here at Dobroyd Castle. We want every child to challenge themselves, grow in confidence, and discover the power of teamwork, all while having an incredible time and making the best memories. My friendly, experienced team is here to support everyone who visits and adapt your trip to your needs. Some of the best things about Dobroyd Castle are how it can accommodate so many children without feeling busy or crowded, and we absolutely love hearing all the singing, cheering and laughter echoing throughout the grounds.
