Indoor Activity

Available at: BHDCMNOS

Crate challenge is a high activity with the emphasis on teamwork. Four children, each wearing a harness with safety rope attached are given the challenge of building a crate tower together. For this session we use an auto-belay system which will ensure anyone falling from the tower is gently lowered to the ground at a very safe and steady pace. The children need to work as a team, climbing up the crate tower as they build it. The rest of the group offer assistance in different ways, in particular by passing crates up to those building the tower as the tower gets higher.

Other Activities at Robinwood

We have 15 high quality activity sessions. Although most are offered at all Robinwood centres, there are some which only operate at selected centres. All centres run a very similar, busy programme with typically 15 activities packed in to the three days at Robinwood. There are slight variations in activities offered at each centre and the activity programme also varies according to the time of year.

What Schools say about our activities

We really appreciate all the recommendations we get from schools who have visited Robinwood and the number of schools who come for the first time as a result of recommendations from friends and colleagues. We are constantly updating the comments from schools who have recently attended a Robinwood Course. The schools that attend come from areas of the Midlands, throughout the North of England and up into Scotland. But don’t just take our word for it, See what they have to say about robinwood. "One of the best trips around. Staff very good at setting expectations with children who respond well to it. The staff were great on a nighttime and dealt with any situations that arose during the night professionally and relayed this information to us the next morning. Extremely clean and tidy as usual. Activities: Archery - Always a good activity and a good opportunity for children to experience an Olympic sport. Canoeing - Great to still see this go ahead with the poor weather. Caving - A lot of education comes with this activity which is great. Climbing - The children loved this as they were all able to access it through the high wall or even the traverse wall for the less able/confident. Giant Swing - The children absolutely loved it. Night Line - Another interesting one for adults to watch as the children battle through the squirrels to make it to the end. Nice to see the children working together. Piranha Pool - A firm favourite of all adults I believe. The hype still surrounds this activity and long may that continue. Although occasionally terrifying for the children, upon reflection they love it - never change! Quest - Great to see the children working in teams to conquer the Quest Challenge. Team Challenge - A nice session to sum up the evening, allowing the children to relax and reflect. All activities were engaging. Trapeze - The new upgrade was a new hit and the children thoroughly enjoyed it. Zip Wire - Children absolutely loved it. A particular enjoyment was the songs before they stepped off."
