Wonderful weekends
Here are 4 good reasons:
1. You will save at least £60 per child
The only courses not £60 cheaper than the preceding Wednesday to Friday course, are those that are already at our lowest price of £79 + VAT per child. Our aim is to offer the best quality course and excellent value for money; we therefore wont drop prices to a level where that quality cannot be achieved.
Weekend courses get exactly the same activity provision as weekend courses, including a very full day on Friday and Saturday.
For a typical three activity group booking, that's a saving of at least £1980 + VAT
For a typical five activity group booking, the saving increases to £3,300 + VAT
2. We increase Robinwood staff provision at the weekends
We recognise that you have an overall duty of care for the supervision of children in your group and are concerned that you have a level of involvement that you are happy with, fulfilling the responsibility that you hold.
The care and supervision offered by the Robinwood team and the level of support that we provide for party leaders and other accompany adults, ensures that we make things as easy, stress free and enjoyable as we can for all the adults on the trip.
Staffing levels are alwlays high at Robinwood, but recognising the fact that teachers who attend at weekends are often sandwiching the trip in-between two full working weeks, we always timetable additional Robinwood staff for weekend courses; available to assist whenever needed. Teachers often tell us how they really appreciate the opportunity to take a step back; observing the whole group, to see how individuals perform and interact, with Robinwood group leaders taking charge. If you want to take steps back at the weekend in particular, we understand the pressures of your working week and that is OK by Robinwood.
3. There is more opportunity for teachers' partners, parents, governors and other friends of the school to attend.
Robinwood needs a nominated teacher, acting as party leader, attending with and taking overall charge of each school party. We recognise that you may also have school and/or LEA requirements to fulfil, but as long as there are an appropriate number of accompanying adults, then there is more opportunity for people other than teachers to attend at the weekend.
Weekend schools often bring a few more accompanying adults. Our normal limit for accommodation is two adults per activity group booked, but we are happy to cater for more people at meal times if someone wants to visit just for the day. All adults visiting Robinwood attend free of charge, but we do need written confirmation from your headteacher that all resident accompanying adults are CRB checked.
One key thing we would ask though is that you tell us in advance who will be attending in order that we can be prepared and able to offer the best possible service.
4. A weekend break at Robinwood is more relaxing than you may expect!
All our centres are in beautiful settings; two of them have acres of picturesque grounds, whilst the Old School centre is on the edge of the moors, where Robinwood activities also take place. They offer your the opportunity for two great nights away. We go that extra mile with the meals provided and ensure we include a choice of meals to suit adult tastes, as well as those of the children. We have extra refreshments available throughout the day and also in the evenings after the children have gone to bed. If you have any special requests for your weekend visit, please let us know and we will do all we can to respond.
On all of our courses we timetable Robinwood staff to do bedtime duty and night duty. This is probably most appreciated by weekend schools who know that although they always need to remain available on call, the Robinwood team is there to enable them to return home at a reasonable time and have an enjoyable and relaxing evening and a good nights sleep.
I felt that not only did we have a great time but the children also learnt a lot. They learnt new skills, an example of which is for hopping during the 'Bouldering' meant that they were always challenged and reached new hei...
