Training courses for adults

Our mountain training courses for adults include; SPA climbing courses, WGL hill walking courses and ML mountain leadership courses. More details of SPA, WGL and ML courses, including information on any pre-requisites for each course can be found on the Mountain Leadership Training UK website at www.mltuk.org. If you are looking gain NGB qualifications, gaining experience in your chosen activity is vital and there will always be other people from Robinwood looking to make progress to achieving SPA, WGL and ML qualifications.

Robinwood also offers canoe training courses for adults including canoeing skills development courses and courses leading to BCU qualifications. Robinwood operates BCU approved centres. More details of BCU training courses, including information on any pre-requisites for each course can be found on the British Canoe Union website at www.bcu.org.uk.

Robinwood outdoor training courses for adults are run by qualified and experienced members of the Robinwood staff training team. We are committed to offering the same high standards on our training courses for adults that we have achieved for many years in the provision of residential activity courses for school groups, providing a course that is both fun and tailored as much as possible to your needs.

We offer outdoor training courses at competitive subsidised prices, because we find that the opportunity to run the courses is great for the development of our own staff team. Involvement with these courses provides great job satisfaction and achieving nationally recognised qualifications, through NGB training courses, is great for their career development.

There are pre-requisites for attending certain training courses offered, as set by the national governing body for that course. Pre-requisites are stated within course information and it is the responsibility of each candidate to ensure that they hold the necessary pre-requisites before attending a course. We will unfortunately be unable to accept candidates on the course who do not hold the pre-requisites.

Our technical expert Bob Llewelyn M.I.C. who oversees our outdoor training courses programme is a member of the Association of Heads of Outdoor Education Centres and the Association of Mountain Instructors.
