Accommodation and Meal options
No hidden deductions
Unlike many other activity centre employers there are very few possible deductions from your Robinwood pay. All training, uniform, laundry facilities, activity events, social events and staff residentials are all provided free of charge. The only possible deductions are for staff accommodation and for meals, as detailed below:
Robinwood Staff Accommodation
Robinwood accommodation is available, charged at £150 per month for a shared room and £180 per month for a single room.
Robinwood Meals
Meals can be provided at the activity centre, whilst the centre is operating. The charge for meals is 90p for breakfasts, 90p for lunches and £1.35 for evening meals, but staff must pay for meals provided on a monthly basis rather than paying for each individual meal taken. If staff opt to have all meals for a month there is a 20% reduction on the total charge for meals that month.
Bonus payments
At Robinwood we are always striving for excellence in the courses that we offer to schools and we recognize that our centre based staff team are central to achieving this excellence. We are happy to reward every member of the instructor team based on their performance each season as follows:
- The team bonus: We offer a bonus payment of up to £100 per season for each group leader, based on the staff team achieving targets for scores given on teacher report forms across around 25 different categories. The team bonus for course leaders is up to £200 per season.
- The individual bonus: We offer a bonus payment of up to £100 per season , to everyone in their first year at Robinwood, based on individual group leader scores achieved on teacher report forms. The maximum individual bonus increases, each year worked at Robinwood.
- The ‘Ideas – Actions – Results’ competition: We offer additional pay and prizes, based on ideas put forward and work done on projects to make Robinwood better.
- Profit related bonus: A profit bonus is awarded to all staff from the start of their 3rd year working for Robinwood onwards. The bonus is calculated by multiplying qualifying gross salary for the year, by the percentage net profit achieved by Robinwood that year.
Time off
Working long days when supervising a 3 day course means that staff get a lot of days off over the course of the season. Robinwood group leaders and course leaders get an average of at least three days off per week. Staff will also have the opportunity to request and be given specific days off, subject to general timetable constraints.
Robinwood also ensure that the timetable of days off for each season (ie. typically the next 4 months) is notified to staff within the first week of the season.
All instructor team staff get one week of paid holiday for every two months that they are employed, which amounts to 6 weeks paid holiday a year.
Superbly organised and pitched just right. Timings great and variety was excellent. A fantastic residential experience from start to finish. Having led many residential visits I have to say that this was, without any doubt, the most complete and worthwhile experience in every respect. Thank you.
