Outdoor Activity

Available at: BHCLDCOS

With blindfold in place the children put one hand on the rope and then follow it wherever it goes. It goes to all sorts of interesting places! Games and activities are generally played prior to the Nightline to maximise the group’s chance of success in working together and helping one another. Discussion of the senses and developing communication and team work throughout the group can provide many educational benefits on this session. The surprises to be discovered on route as children worm their way over, under and through various obstacles ensure the session is also a lot of fun.

Other Activities at Robinwood

We have 15 high quality activity sessions. Although most are offered at all Robinwood centres, there are some which only operate at selected centres. All centres run a very similar, busy programme with typically 15 activities packed in to the three days at Robinwood. There are slight variations in activities offered at each centre and the activity programme also varies according to the time of year.

What Schools say about our activities

We really appreciate all the recommendations we get from schools who have visited Robinwood and the number of schools who come for the first time as a result of recommendations from friends and colleagues. We are constantly updating the comments from schools who have recently attended a Robinwood Course. The schools that attend come from areas of the Midlands, throughout the North of England and up into Scotland. But don’t just take our word for it, See what they have to say about robinwood. "Just to say a big thank you to all the staff at Robinwood - The annual trips are a real highlight of the year for both the staff and the pupils and we can't wait to come back next year! The centre was presented impeccably and definitely feels like a 'home from home'. Overnight Supervision - The staff skillfully dealt with any issues with the children, at the same time as keeping our staff well informed. Activities: Archery - One of the children's highlights! Canoeing - It was great that all the children could be involved at the same time. Caving - Children overcame their fears and were so proud of themselves for navigating through the darkness of the caves. Challenge Course - They loved this - children were involved all the time and really worked as a team. Crate Challenge - Varied roles within the challenge allowed children to be actively involved all the time. Dungeon - Both this and the Knights' Quest were one of the teachers' highlights. Great to see the children having to engage in real life problem solving. Nightline - Great for team work and communication skills. Another activity that works so well because everyone can be actively involved at once. Piranha Pool - As usual - the infamous piranha pool did not disappoint. A highlight of the week for everyone! Team Challenge - Fantastic evening for staff and pupils alike - the children loved seeing their teachers get involved and a great bonding experience for everyone. Trapeze - Great encouragement on this activity by the course leaders meant that all the children had a go on this activity."
