Indoor Activity

Available at: BHDCOS

Most of our activity sessions take place with one activity group and their group leader at a time, but for team challenge we get a number of activity groups together one evening for various inter-group challenges. This is an opportunity for the whole school group to share experiences. Teachers, children, group leaders and course leaders spend time together, taking part in stimulating and fun challenges. We have a lot of different options for team challenge activities and in order that we can run a team challenge that is right for each school, we invite teachers to choose activities and have some input on the way team challenge operates, before the session starts. Although scheduled as an indoor session schools sometimes choose to do part of team challenge outdoors.

Other Activities at Robinwood

We have 15 high quality activity sessions. Although most are offered at all Robinwood centres, there are some which only operate at selected centres. All centres run a very similar, busy programme with typically 15 activities packed in to the three days at Robinwood. There are slight variations in activities offered at each centre and the activity programme also varies according to the time of year.

What Schools say about our activities

We really appreciate all the recommendations we get from schools who have visited Robinwood and the number of schools who come for the first time as a result of recommendations from friends and colleagues. We are constantly updating the comments from schools who have recently attended a Robinwood Course. The schools that attend come from areas of the Midlands, throughout the North of England and up into Scotland. But don’t just take our word for it, See what they have to say about robinwood. "Once again, we've had an excellent visit to Robinwood - probably our best visit yet. The centre is very well organised and the course and group leaders were both exceptional in how they dealt with the children and how they ran the activities. Even after five years of visiting, I cannot wait to visit again next year with a new class. Thank you for a brilliant residential! Head Office staff - Always happy to answer questions and resolve any queries, also very speedy and have never been on hold. Activities: Caving - Lots of children have said this was their favourite activity this year. The new CCTV cameras in one of the caves are an excellent addition so that teachers can see what's going on without the risk of 'getting stuck'. Night Line - Especially enjoyed the cup of water challenge that children had to complete for the second half of the course. Team Challenge - Children (and staff!!!) thoroughly enjoyed the different activities. It was good to have this twice as the night activity so pupils could wind down a bit before bed. Trapeze - Always the scariest for our pupils. The group leaders did a great job of helping pupils to conquer the fear of it and encouraging to step outside their comfort zone a little bit. Zip Wire - The upgrades are FANTASTIC! We loved that this became a whole group activity as both groups were now joined by the bridge. We also like the new system in that there is no wasted time waiting for the rope to be returned. Pupils enjoyed the racing and ninja stance competition."
