Indoor Activity

Available at: BHDCOS

This session involves different ‘crystal maze’ type challenges, going back and forth across our ‘piranha pool’, without falling in. We introduced this themed problem solving session over the first couple of years that Robinwood operated and it has developed over the years since then to become, for many schools, the most talked about and eagerly anticipated session at Robinwood.
To achieve success the group must demonstrate skills in planning, communicating, evaluating and problem solving. We also ensure that the “piranhas”(?!) are unable to cause any injury should a child (or teacher) briefly join them in their pool.

Other Activities at Robinwood

We have 15 high quality activity sessions. Although most are offered at all Robinwood centres, there are some which only operate at selected centres. All centres run a very similar, busy programme with typically 15 activities packed in to the three days at Robinwood. There are slight variations in activities offered at each centre and the activity programme also varies according to the time of year.

What Schools say about our activities

We really appreciate all the recommendations we get from schools who have visited Robinwood and the number of schools who come for the first time as a result of recommendations from friends and colleagues. We are constantly updating the comments from schools who have recently attended a Robinwood Course. The schools that attend come from areas of the Midlands, throughout the North of England and up into Scotland. But don’t just take our word for it, See what they have to say about robinwood. "A super set of activities - brilliantly organised and carried out, with such a full on programme, there was no time for children to miss home, fall out or get bored. Educational value - Outstanding - working on many transferable skills, without the children overly noticing! Overnight Supervision - Very well-organised; we felt completely confident that our children were in safe hands. The communication via the blue book was excellent and very thorough. Food - Excellent, home-made food - we had no complaints from the children, which is definitely a compliment! How everyone was served so quickly was also very impressive. Activities: Trapeze - One of the real highlights of the trip for many of them, which pushed them to their absolute limits! Stream Walk - Brilliant! The most creative, enjoyable walk we've ever been on with the chance to practise our communication skills! Quest - Great puzzles which required them to listen to each other. Piranha Pool - This was extremely enjoyable for the children - they believed the hype and loved solving the puzzles before the timer had run out! Canoeing - This was a 'first' for many of the children, which they enjoyed, especially the games with footballs and splashing!"
